Mission Statement:
 

He Ska Tokala Sobriety Society is an organization based on

the Lakota Sioux Kit Fox Warrior Society.

 

The He Ska Tokala Sobriety Society

seeks to develop  and support charitable, educational, research, scientific, spiritual, and cultural activities and projects.

The He Ska Tokala Sobriety Society is dedicated

to the goals of:

 

  • Preservation and education of Native American culture, traditions, language, and spiritual beliefs through gatherings, sharing, teachings, and workshops.

 

  • Preservation and education of Native American healing practices including the education of medicinal plants and traditional food-gathering and preparation methods.

 

  • Promotion of sobriety and a drug-free lifestyle among the Native American Peoples through:
    • Funding assistance for substance abuse and/or addiction rehabilitation assistance
    • Promoting easier access to substance abuse and/or addiction rehabilitation assistance
    • Obtaining extra substance abuse and/or addiction rehabilitation assistance
    • Sponsoring, supporting, or assisting workshops for those suffering from addiction or substance abuse by volunteers who have successful recovery.
    • Performing or assisting outreach and outreach programs to those suffering from addiction or substance abuse by volunteers who have successful recovery.

 

  • Working to help improve the quality of life for Native American People through housing, heating, and utility assistance programs.

 

  • Promoting, creating, and/or assisting with research, implementation, and educational programs involving alternative self-sufficient housing as well as water mitigation and wind power, solar heating, and other forms of alternative energy.

  

  • Working to develop, assist, and/or establish training programs to empower Native American People with job development skills.

 

  • Supporting self-employment as well as self-employment-development initiatives for Native American People.
