"Lakota Way of Life" Gathering to Benefit Non-Profit Organization

On September 14, 2002 (9am to Dark), a Benefit Gathering entitled "The Lakota Way of Life" will be held at the Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch in the Rocky Mountains, 7 miles west of Loveland, Colorado..  This Gathering will support the many local community projects of Pathways to Spirit, a Colorado Non-Profit, all volunteer organization.

Among the Lakota Spiritual Leaders from Rosebud and Pine Ridge Reservations speaking at this event will be Albert White Hat, Sr., Howard Bad Hand, David Swallow, Jr., Selo Black Crow, and Wallace Black Elk.  In addition to the speakers, the day will include drum groups, jingle dancers, and vendors selling Plains Indian Arts and Crafts.

Pathways to Spirit, located in Fort Collins, Colorado, is dedicated to the provision of material assistance to, and cultural preservation of, Native Americans on the reservations of South Dakota and along the Front Range of Colorado from Denver to Wyoming. Pathways to Spirit seeks the easing of the effects of poverty, the reduction of discrimination, and the transmission of Native American languages and way of life across generations. The organization pursues this mission through direct provision of goods and services, education and training, and evolving partnerships with other organizations."

Guests of all ages will be welcomed at this event.  Cost is $15 for the day ($10 for Seniors over 60, $6 for children under 12, and discount group and large family rates).  This Benefit is sponsored by Pathways to Spirit, Inc., Sylvan Guest Ranch, IBM, and the City of Loveland, Colorado.
